Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was reached following an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
