The comedian in his element

The broadcasting company has chosen to suspend Jimmy Kimmel Live until further notice in the wake of host Jimmy Kimmel made remarks concerning the killing of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk.

"The show will be pre-empted for now," a spokesperson for the network confirmed.

During Monday night’s opening segment, Kimmel suggested that certain political groups were trying to capitalize off of Kirk’s murder.

The following day, a alleged individual appeared in court charged with homicide in connection with the incident.

"Some political figures are attempting to label this individual as something besides part of their movement," commented in his show.

Kimmel, who has often drawn ire from political opponents, also criticized flags flown at half-staff for Kirk and ridiculed how officials behaved to the tragedy.

He featured a recording featuring a well-known person redirecting to different topics when asked about the shooting.

"This is not how a responsible individual mourns a death," remarked. "It resembles how a child responds after a sad event."

Regulatory Feedback

Meanwhile, a high-ranking official from the Federal Communications Commission called Kimmel’s statements as "the sickest commentary imaginable."

"Broadcasters have a license mandating them to behave in the public interest," the official emphasized.

He suggested that an apology from Kimmel would be a "minimal initial response."
